Sleep & Relaxation Supplement Formulation

Nighttime products are consumed in a specific ritual, in a dark kitchen, thirty minutes before bed. The flavour direction, the format and the dose all follow from that.

Formulating for the moment, not the shelf

Sleep products break the normal beverage rules. Bright, acidic, energising flavour profiles work against the occasion. Volume works against it too — nobody wants 16 oz of liquid before bed. That pushes most of the category toward small shots, concentrated syrups and warm-serve formats, with softer, rounder, lower-acid flavour directions.

What we develop

  • Nighttime shots and 1–3 oz relaxation formats
  • Low-acid, low-brightness flavour systems suited to evening use
  • Botanical-forward relaxation blends
  • Mineral and amino inputs used in wind-down positioning
  • Caffeine-free warm-serve and mix-in formats
  • Sugar-reduced systems that don't rely on a sharp acid front

The formulation challenges

Low acid, high risk. Moving away from bright acidity for sensory reasons removes one of the main tools for shelf stability. Preservation approach, pH targets and process have to be designed together rather than assumed.

Botanical taste load. Many relaxation inputs are bitter and strongly herbaceous. Masking has to be done without the acid-and-sweet sharpness that works in daytime products.

Dose in small volume. As with any shot format, the arithmetic between serving size, claimed dose and solubility gets settled before bench work starts.

Colour stability. Botanical-derived colours drift over shelf life, especially in clear packaging, which feeds back into packaging selection.

Claims we won't make

We develop products intended to support relaxation, wind-down and a normal sleep routine. We do not formulate toward or write claims that a product treats insomnia, cures anxiety or addresses any diagnosed condition, and we won't imply sedative or drug-like effects.
